LOGISTICS COMMAND NIGERIAN AIR FORCE CONDUCTS ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION AND MEDICAL OUT- REACH FOR HOST COMMUNITY.
Logistics Command Nigerian Airforce and co -located units in Lagos area conducted fourth quarter Civil Military Relations (CIMIR).
In its efforts to actualize the Chief Of Air Staff vision, Air Marshal Saqidue Baba Abubakar (CAS) to give back to the host community and improve on service delivery, the Logistics command Nigerian Airforce today (Saturday) conducted environmental sanitation ex cerise and medical outreach as the Chairman Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Council commended Nigerian Airforce.
Personnel of Logistics command and co-located unit in Lagos area today filed out at Owoseni street, Oshodi, Lagos, to clean up the street and parked out over filled gutters.
The Commander 651 Base Services Group,(BSG) Nigerian Airforce Ikeja, Air Commodore Sunday Makinde said, "Nigerian Airforce is not only involved in providing security for the nation alone but also an environmental friendly force," he added that, the exercise was aimed at building a synergy and keeping a cordial relationship between civil populace and at the same time reaching out to the host community, he stated this while fielding questions from news men during the forth quarter civil military relations,(CIMIR) the Commander noted that, "gone are the days that the civil populace are at a distance with the military".
On medical outreach, Air Commodore Sunday Makinde said, it was a norm for Nigerian Airforce (NAF) as way of contributing to the host community, that, the medical outreach was arranged by 661 NAF Medical Hospital lkeja. He revealed that even in the North East where security challenges is experienced, Nigerian Airforce (NAF) is still providing medical outreach and support to the Community.
In his remarks during the interview with the news men, the Chairman Oshodi/lsolo local Government Council, Honorable ldris Bolagi said, "it was a thing of joy and highly commendable to see military Officers coming out to relate with the civilian counter part", he urged other sister services to borrow a leave from the Nigerian Airforce (NAF).
Earlier the Chairman Oshodi/lsolo local Government council at Cairo Market Oshodi, Lagos, where the medical outreach was conducted had himself examined by NAF medical Doctor.
It could be recalled that civil military Relations programme is a quarterly exercise in the Nigerian Airforce.
