301 HAG DECORATES ITS PERSONNEL WITH NEW RANK AND SERVICE MEDAL.
301 Heavy Airlift Group Nigerian Airforce on Thursday at the Group briefing room decorated the newly promoted senior non Commission Officers (SNCO) to next higher rank.
Recently the chief Air Staff, Air Marshal Saqid Abubakar approved promotion of senior non Commission Officers (SNCO) which 301 HAG is one of the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the colorful event, the Commander 301 Heavy Airlift Group , Air Commodore Abubakar Abdullahi thanked the (CAS ) for including the unit in the promotion exercise, he disclosed that, this year promotion of SNCO was challenging for the fact that, the new terms and condition of service in Armed forces is being implemented, which mandated promotion of SNCO to be three years instead of four.
He noted that, over five hundred senior non Commission Officers were due for promotion this year but promotion vacancy could only accommodate twenty (SNCO).
The Commander urged those promoted to maintain high standard of discipline, be focus and work hard.
He added that, promotion and awards comes with higher responsibilities, he further advised those who were due but not promoted to continue to work hard and believe in God for promotion comes from God.
The Occasion was also used for the decoration of senior Officers, Airmen, Airwomen of the unit who were awarded with service Medal.
First Service star Medal, (FSS). This award is only awarded to Officers and men who must have distinguished themselves and spent twelve years of meritorious service without any blame and Distinguish Service Star Medal. (DSS) is awarded only to Officer who must have distinguished him self and served for twenty four years without any dent in his records.
Medal is celebrated in the armed forces because is only awarded to personnel who must have distinguished themselves and served for a certain number of years in the military.
Recently the chief of Air Staff, (CAS) awarded Commander 301 HAG with distinguish Service Star Medal (DSS).
Master Warrant Officer Adeola Kareem who benefitted in the promotion, in his vote of thanks appealed to the Commander to convey their sincere gratitude to the (CAS) for promoting them in a time such as this, he thanked the Commander, Officers and men of the unit for supporting him in his duties as group Sergeant major.
